Fringe Performers On The Royal Mile 2009
During the Edinburgh Festival you cannot walk on the upper part of the Royal Mile without people in colourful, and sometimes very strange, costumes thrusting cards and flyers at you while urging you to go to their show. Some actually perform sections of their plays, musicals, etc., in the hope you will pay money to see the whole production.
Naturally, most of the pics I tried to take were spoiled by random folk walking in front of me just as I pressed the shutter. The harsh late afternoon sun didn't help much either. But hopefully the ones I've posted will give you some idea of what was on offer yesterday.

It would be in bad taste for someone as old as me to comment on how attractive young men in bands are, so I won't add anything there. But I will agree that he's using a very nice acoustic guitar. The electric one he normally plays at shows is silver and glittery. Check out their Glasgow King Tut's pics on their myspace from April (supporting the Von Bondies) Shiona (unsceneunheard) got a few nice shots of it that night.
Thanks. I've washed the jeans and I'm hoping the pile of the fabric isn't as badly damaged as I first thought. The bruise on my knee, however, still seems to be growing ... it's currently about 3'' by 2'' and not exactly attractive. I am such a klutz.
The artists from the far east always seem to have the most amazing costumes.
It's always interesting, however tickets for the best shows usually get snapped up quickly by people visiting the city. I'm going in with hubby and a couple of friends later in the month to see a few things ... don't know what they are yet...
Awesome shot!
